Top 100 Music Videos (60-51)

The sound is really badly out of sync in one or two of these videos, bear with it.

60. The Used - All That I've Got

59. Foo Fighters - The Pretender

58. We Are Scientists - The Great Escape
The dance is immense.

57. Lostprophets - Rooftops

56. My Chemical Romance - I'm Not Okay

55. Queens of the Stone Age - Go With the Flow
Psychedelic.

54. Black Eyed Peas - Don't Phunk With My Heart
This video got so high for one reason and one reason only: the splits.

53. Beastie Boys - Sabotage

52. Bowling For Soup - Punk Rock 101

51. The Riverboat Gamblers - Don't Bury Me...I'm Still Not Dead
This video is so quirky and sketchy, you just can't help but like it :)

Top 5 Songs (week starting 27/07)

Quite a few repeats this week, and all bands you've seen before, but quite an impressive list all the same :)

5. Deathbed - Relient K

The longest song on my playlist at over 11 minutes long. The title kind of sums it up, it's a guy on his deathbed. I only really like the chorus, which is right here:

"I can smell the death on the sheets
Covering me
I can't believe this is the end

I can hear those sad memories
Still haunting me
So many things I'd do again

But this is my deathbed
I lie here alone
If I close my eyes tonight
I know I'll be home"

4. Walk on Water or Drown - Mayday Parade

This song probably suits my mood quite well. Mayday Parade are quite good at suiting my mood, this is one of my favourite songs by them, I've known it for agesss. You'll see what it's about in the lyrics, good song...

Good Lyrics: "Well, this hurts me more than I can stand to say in just one sitting"

"Oh, and everybody knows this is the part
Of breaking down in anybody's arms"

"As I'm looking to the sky to count the stars
I wonder if you see them where you are"

"[Chorus]
And then I fell into pieces and she fell into me
Saying, "Play me a song
It's been too long since I've heard you sing."

And yeah, we all fall to pieces
But at least you fell to me
But this is a wrong night
Tell me goodnight and let it go"

3. The Ransom - Escape the Fate

This came up to suit my mood earlier this week, something came up that I really took a bitter approach to, this was a very good sound track to suit. Any veterans of my blog might just remember that this song came up in my second ever list, just thought you'd like to know...

Good Lyrics:

"Sending shivers right down your spine"

"[Chorus]
Quick
We have the ransom
Tell me how that you can swim
When ropes are wrapped around your limbs
Below
There's no more chances
So tell me now if you can swim
When ropes are wrapped around your limbs"

"I know you'll never change so please just hold on"

"There is a fine line between betrayal and your friends "

2. The Bird and the Worm - The Used

This song (along with my number 1) has been very consistant lately. It's moving it's way up my favourite songs list and I'd say it's probably in my top 10, possibly even my top 5. I love the line at the end of the chorus "To save his life, He crawls like a worm from a bird", I feel it suits me quite well :)

1. The New Black - Every Time I Die

I think that this has just become my favourite song. I don't know, my favourite songs tend to suit me, Adalia by Madina Lake highlighted my relationship with Ellen, so that became my favourite song back then. Call if you want to by The Riverclub was upbeat yet lonely, again, suiting me. The New Black is cocky, and about knowing who you are, even if you aren't such a great person, and I love it.

I looked up Every Time I Die yesterday and discovered that I really don't like any of their other songs. I guess they just hit it off with this one, awesome vocals that don't scream too much, cheeky little guitar riffs, cocky drums, verrrry good combination. I also found the video, which I like quite a lot. Unfortunately it's too late to add it to my list so I'm just gonna post it for you here:

Love the ending and what's going on next to the pool :p

The Lad's Day

Basically, bowling had been planned for about a week, but all the girls dropped out. I was quite excited really, I don't think we'd ever had a day with just the guys...

So, James and I walked from Abbots to hollywood bowl (about 40 mins) and met Ewan, we knew Tom was on his way and so decided a game of air hockey would pass the time, my phone rang about halfway through, Tom arrived, and I lost to James. Annoyingly, we had to book when we got there, for an hour later on, so we all chipped in for pool and racing (and an abysmal attempt on a dance machine, we blame the converses). I lost every game of pool and owned the racing (obviously).

When it was finally time to bowl, I had pretty much set myself up for two straight losses. We set up with no barriers (because we're guys and wanted the competition value) and began. I started off with a 9, which is normally my average, not bad, but no strikes or spares =/. On my second bowl, I hit a strike, we were all shocked. In the end the last frame looked like this: I had 80 points, Tom had 78, Ewan had something much lower and James was about to bowl with 78 points, 2 points needed to win. Amazingly, he got a gutter ball twice! I was ecstatic. However, I was slightly disappointed that it came so close even though I had scored two strikes (everyone else only had spares), shows how low I was scoring otherwise.

The second game approached, Ewan got four gutter balls on the trot, I scored two more strikes, James and Tom got spares, and I finished in first with 86 points. A record by my standards, the only person ever to get two wins in a row before has been Tom. A good day :p

We used up our remaining cash between us on the big air hockey table, an air hockey tournament and a doubles game of pool. The air hockey tournament was pretty intense. Tom finished up with Ewan while James and myself were still on 1-1 (possibly the longest rally of the day) but James eventually shone through and beat me 7-4. The final: James vs Tom. it was looking good, James was 6-3 up on match point when he spilled his slush puppy all over the table, adding a whole new dimension to the game, I couldn't help noticing that James was now getting wet whenever Tom sent one up the middle :) James pulled through though and finished up.

Our doubles game was quite good too, 'twas James and me vs Tom and Ewan. Ewan and James kicked off, Tom made first pot, leaving me aiming at spots. I took the longest shot possible and pulled it off, before taking another one. A very impressive start, Tom and Ewan began to look a little nervous. Unfortunately, it didn't last. I missed the black on in the closing stages of the game and Tom took the game.

We'll most likely be making regular trips for the pool in future, when we're back for the sixth form and all getting ourselves a little extra money. I look forward to it.

The Final Countdown(?)

This, right here, is post number 80. Obviously I'm talking about my 100th post here, very significant landmark in terms of me and my blog. I have dedication issues, so it's quite special to me. But should I do something?

I don't know, throw a little party for me and all of you (my loyal readers) could be good?

Anyway, it very much feels like a countdown. The drama of my life has returned and is actually effecting my blog (I've gone down to EIGHT followers :'( ). To cut a long story short, everything is going to pot, and as many factors as possible are piling into my life to put it into effect. I hope things turn out okay, and no one else gets hurt...

So yeah, I'll keep you up to date on the home straight.

Top 100 Music Videos (70-61)

70. Kings of Leon - Four Kicks
This was way before they became popular. For the record, I hate this song too.

69. Madina Lake - One Last Kiss
I'd have loved to put this video higher, but the guitarist jumping off the drumkit all the time started to piss me off

68. Bullet for my Valentine - Tears Don't Fall

67. Electric Six - Gay Bar
This video is so ridiculous.

66. We are Scientists - Nobody Move, Nobody get hurt

65. Black Eyed Peas - Pump It

64. Mcfly - Lies
Good fight scene? I can't really justify it.

63. Blink 182 - The Rock Show

62. Foo Fighters - Break Out
This is up more for the intro than anything =D

61. Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Californication
It's like a video game! How cool is that? Yet it's so long you just get bored...Kerrang played this video twice in a row, I liked it a lot less.

Animals and Organisation

Two at the same time today, because they're short.

Animals

Anyone who knows me knows that I love animals, especially of the cat kind :p My favourite animals are leopards and tigers. One zoo I went to had this keeper who was carrying round a skunk. Seemed a bit weird, but when I found out why I was really excited.

It was her pet.

Obviously the skunk had had it's stink glands removed, so it wasn't a smelly thing. It's just that they look so cool! Kinda blew my strange want for a gecko or two out of the water =D I'd get a baby one and a kitten or two at the same time, so they can all grow and get along together. It'd be amazing.

Awww!

Organisation

I think that's how it's spelt, I'm not sure, I just go with "s" because the American's are the one's that use "z". Anyway, it would surprise you to know that I like to be organised. If you've been in my bedroom it would all make sense, because there are two places that can prove it.

A) My DVD collection: easy to prove, it's in alphabetical order. Yes it's sad, but it's because some day I intend it to be huuuuge!

Like the one behind Danny here:

B) My desk: A lot of the time it can be quite messy, but more often than not with other people's stuff, I clear it pretty regularly and prefer it to be fairly clean, as people will know.

So yeah, that's pretty much all of my list, I'll post the cooking bit when I next cook (I can't give you a date). I hope you feel enlightened.

Top 5 Songs (Week Starting 20/07)

It's been a pretty hefty week in terms of music, because I now have an official playlist, there were 597 songs to choose from. Luckily, five jumped out almost immediately and another three jumped out later on, so we have a less confusing list.

5. Private Eye - Alkaline Trio

This song has some of the best lyrics I've come across in a long time. It's about a guy who's stalking his ex to find some evidence that she was cheating on him or something. It's a bit sick in the head, but it's pretty cleverly written.

Good Lyrics:
"I dragged this lake looking for corpses
Dusted for prints, pried up the floorboards
Pieces of planes and black box recorders
Don't lie"

"New year's eve was as boring as heaven"

"But at the right place at the right time
I'll be dead wrong and you'll be just fine
And I won't have to quit doing fucked up shit
For anyone but me
And at the right place at the right time
It will have been worth it to stand in line
And you won't have to stop
Saying "I love cops" for anyone but me
Your private eye"

4. Little White Lies - Fastball

This song's a bit different to the stuff I normally listen to. Catchy beat, cool lyrics. It kind of applies to me too. The meaning's pretty obvious.

Good lyrics: "I saw you yesterday
I was not phased, I did not care
You turned and walked away
As if I was not there"

"I tell myself these little white lies, these little white lies
Like I don't miss you
I tell myself these little white lies, these little white lies
Like I don't love you
I tell myself these little white lies, these little white lies
Like I don't miss you you
I tell myself these little white lies, these little white lies
And I just walk around
With my eyes closed "

3. Keep Your Hands Off My Girl - Good Charlotte

This song has become really catchy to me (it was before, then I hated it). The big that got it into the list is just after the second chorus, it adds a whole new dimension to the song, and it goes like this:

"She, she, she don't wanna talk about it,
He, he, he wants to fight about,
Me, me, I don't wanna fight about it,
I just wanna be about it,
I'm just trying to stay about it,
Step out the wagon,
You know the boy starts to hate,
The girl that came with him,
They like that's not the boy she dates,
They get the fighting and swearing,
And now the boyfriend is staring,
The disco ball on the ceiling,
Looks like the chain that I'm wearing"

2. Coffee Shop Soundtrack - All Time Low

This song's pretty much me settling back into punk and my warped tour stuff. I was just half listening to this and a few lyrics ("flavour of lips", you'll see in a sec) really shone through. So I listened to the song again and really got into it. Good stuff.

Good Lyrics:
"I can keep a secret
If you can keep me guessing
The flavor of your lips
Is enough to keep me pressing"

Amazing.

1. Jamie All Over - Mayday Parade

I've been listening to this song every night on repeat. FACT. It is quite possibly the most emotionally powerful songs I have ever heard, in a good way. It all sounds so perfect, it's a shame it was just a dream. When I hear this song, it's presented so well that I can really imagine and partly feel how he feels for this girl. It'll be the closest thing to being in love for me for a hell of a long time. He savours every minute of their time together, I wouldn't know, all I've had is cheap thrills and school boy crushes...But still, this song is just so, so lovely, you'd have to listen to understand. Standard.

"I had a dream last night
We drove out to see Las Vegas
We lost ourselves in the bright lights
I wish you could have seen us
Begging for change to get home
Or at least San Francisco
Let's put a ten on the high card
And spend a summer on the West Coast

You wore the red shirt that I love
I sang the song that I wrote you
We laughed our way down the beaches
As we dance around the issue

Down and to the left
(Here's the map and the pen; the place you pointed at)
Be California's best
(Still it lasts, still it lasts)

And please don't tell me that I'm dreaming
When all I ever wanted was to
Dream another sunset with you
If I roll over when it's over
I'll take this Cali sunrise with me
And wake up with the fondest memories

We made love by the ocean
As the waves crashed around you
Sunsets never were so bright
And the skies never so blue
You opened up into my arms
And we laughed as I held you
I'll never go back to Georgia
Not at least till I have to

Down and to the left
(Here's the map and the pen; the place you pointed at)
Be California's best
(Still it lasts, still it lasts)

And please don't tell me that I'm dreaming
When all I ever wanted was to
Dream another sunset with you
If I roll over when it's over
I'll take this Cali sunrise with me
And wake up with the fondest memories
Memories

I had a dream last night
We drove out to see Las Vegas
We lost ourselves in the bright lights

And please don't tell me that I'm dreaming
When all I ever wanted was to
Dream another sunset with you
If I roll over when it's over
I'll take this Cali sunrise with me
And wake up with the fondest memories

We made love by the ocean
As the waves crashed around you
(Memories)
Sunsets never were so bright
And the skies never so blue
(Memories)
You opened up into my arms
And we laughed as I held you
(Memories)
I'll never go back to Georgia
Not at least till I have to

Down and to the left"

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, it's fairly obvious that it comes to an end :)

INTERESTING FACT: Mayday Parade was actually formed from two bands, one called Kid Named Chicago and the other called Defining Moment. This song was originally written by Kid Named Chicago but Mayday Parade half-covered (you know what I mean) it for their album.

Top 100 Music Videos (80-71)

Yeah, I'm trying to speed things up a bit. Keep in mind that this took me aaaaaages.

72. Paramore - Misery Business
As an added bonus, you can sing along to this one!

71. Slipknot - Before I Forget
Now, this video is exciting for me, because it shows slipknot without their masks! I've heard they once performed live without their masks and got booed, which is sad because they should be liked for their music, not their image. Personally I don't like either.

BONUS - Count how many guys are there! I lost count...

Top 100 Music Videos (85-81)

The Ultimate Teen Fairy Tale (Part 2)

The lost boy was far from alone, yet he was lonely. He did not understand how "the one" could disguise themselves so well, he often wondered if "the one" was just in hiding, or maybe he just hadn't found them at all. Our hero often searched the lands around his home, but knew in his heart that this would not be enough. His princess was most definately in another castle.

Of course, all fairy tales must traditionally have a villain, usually in the form of a witch or giant. Ours is simply a voice. The voice finds power in words, more power than any fist or sword can provide, It makes frequent attacks on our hero, all it has to do is tell him that he is weak, and weak he becomes.

One day, it was announced that our hero was to be sent away for a week, with only his mobile phone to keep in touch with all those left behind in his home town. Alas, none of them had credit. The lost boy decided to take this oppurtunity to make new friends and distract him from his quest. What he found, was something else.

Murphy

This is my cat. He's called Murphy. He's a rescue cat, as are most of the cats in my house, I got him along with his brother, Max. However, Max ran away the year we got him :(
I worry quite a lot about Murphy, because he just dissapears for weeks at a time. Luckily, he's staying at home at the moment, and is probably asleep on my brother's bed. He's a tad skittish, and kind of loud when he wants my attention (usually at night, when I'm going to bed), but I love him all the same :)

People and Me

Ok What was my first thing on the list exactly?

"I get attached to people too easily, yet I don't really feel close to them."

Right, it's true. I get comfortable with the people I talk to on a regular basis and if I stop talking to them on a regular basis then I really feel like something's missing. However, I don't feel close to many people. There are times when I'm irritated easily by my friends and I often question whether I can trust a lot of them.

For instance, if I get on well with a "local" friend over the internet but don't see them often in person, I wonder if they really like me or not. There are few people I trust 100% (and one of them's on holiday). As a result of this I quite often feel lonely, I'm getting better, I used to be SO much worse.

So yeah, now you know something new about me. Maybe if you wanna "get involved" you could probably help it! Fun fun fun. Next time shall be more cheerful, I promise.

Top 100 Music Videos (95-91)

Sorry, kinda slowed this one down by accident while looking for a decent version of "Can't touch this", I'll keep it regular for you guys now. Don't say I never do anything for you :P

95. Biffy Clyro - Folding Stars

94. 30 Seconds to Mars - Attack

93. Plain White T's - Hey There Delilah

92. The Killers - Bones

91. Run DMC featuring Aerosmith - Walk This Way

This vid's a bit messed up, but you get the point.

Some Stuff About Me

I think I'm going to post things next week that are relevant to me, we can call it "learn about Adam week", so to set the tone I'm gonna post some things you probably know about me, and some things you probably don't know about me.

Things You Probably Know/Should Know About Me

  • My favourite colour is green.
  • I have seven cats.
  • I have deep blue eyes.
  • I have a rabbit called "princess".
  • My favourite band is Madina Lake.
  • I'm quite sensitive.
  • My biggest fears are spiders and heights (but I'm getting over them).
  • I'm a pretty big film geek.
  • I have "woman hands"/"piano player's hands."
  • I have a seriously over-active imagination.

Things You Probably Don't Know About Me

  • I get attached to people too easily, yet I don't really feel close to them.
  • Although I have seven cats, only one is considered mine and only mine, called "Murphy"
  • I REALLY enjoy writing, but it's completely hidden by the fact that I'm such a good mathematician.
  • I enjoy the company of animals and would really like a pet skunk or lizard.
  • Although I seem to be a very messy person, I'm a bit of an organization freak.
  • I feel like I have to provide for people and normally do so through cooking.

Top 5 Songs (Week Starting 13/07)

We're still working off my makeshift playlist because I only made my proper playlist last night, so we're gonna have a few repeats here. I kind of think this list tells a teensy story, but then again, I'm quite a sad person.

5. Omen - The Prodigy

This isn't quite the story, this can be the theme tune. I just needed a good pace and tune to keep my brain going i suppose. Good track for walking to (y) I can't believe I just did that...

4. Never take us alive - Madina Lake

Madina Lake (I love them!) possibly their best song on the second album? Maybe. It's about some kind of battle. In the case of my "story" it can be an internal one.

3. MakeDamnSure - Taking Back Sunday

This one kind of speaks for itself (obviously you'd have to listen to it). It's really been there since two weeks ago, I just decided not to mention it last week :p

2. Monsters - Matchbook Romance

Ok, serious time now. I've considered adding this to the list for a long time, but it never quite made the cut. I guess 2 is a fairly reasonable position. I like it because of the clapping, it adds this weird sensation to the track that really brings out the meaning of them using the word "we", as if there are loadsssss of them. This adds to my "story" because we all face monsters.

Good Lyrics: "[Chorus]
we are
we are the shaken
we are the monsters
underneath your bed
yeah
believe what you read
we are
we are mistaken
we are the voices
inside your head
yeah
believe what you see"

"it came as no surprise
you bring me back to life
believe me
you bleed for me
i'll bleed for you
i caught you walking through walls
drowned with applause
from the world that makes me crazy"

1. Move Along - The All American Rejects

This song actually kicked in on the Saturday morning after my last top 5 :p On the bus to Hemel. It just makes sense to me, I pretty much needed something to kick me into gear. The end of the story is that we move along, I need to move along. The all american rejects are one of the bands I've liked for a longggg time, three years at least. However, this is probably the song that'll apply to me more than any of their others, and I take it very seriously.

"Go ahead
As you waste your days with thinking
When you fall, everyone stands
Another day
And you've had your fill of sinking
With the life held in your

Hands are shaking cold
These hands are meant to hold
(Speak to me)

When all you gotta keep is strong
Move along, move along
Like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along
Just to make it through
Move along
Move along

So a day
When you've lost yourself completely
Could be a night when your life ends
Such a heart
That will lead you to deceiving
All the pain held in your

Hands are shaking cold
Your hands are mine to hold
Speak to me

When all you gotta keep is strong
Move along, move along
Like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along
Just to make it through
Move along

(Go on, go on, go on, go on)
When everything is wrong
We move along
(Go on, go on, go on, go on)
When everything is wrong
We move along
Along, along
Along, along
Along, along

When all you gotta keep is strong
Move along, move along
Like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along
Just to make it through (x2)

When all you gotta keep is strong
Move along, move along
Like I know you do
(Know you do)
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along
Just to make it through
Move along

(Go on, go on, go on, go on)
Right back what is wrongWe move along (x4)"

The Ultimate Teen Fairy Tale

I feel like I should write something to go up on here, as well as Rob and Jen. So here we go, a story written specifically for my blog!

The Lost Boy and The Extended Metaphor - Part 1

Once upon a time, there was a boy who was lost. He was lost because he didn't really know where he was going, all he wanted was to know the true identity of the mysterious figure known only as "the one".

In a previous adventure our hero (if you can stretch to call him that) settled down with Beauty. However, over time it became apparent that Beauty was in fact the Beast, and she cast him into a deep, dark pit she liked to call despair. Luckily for us, our hero was stronger than even he expected, bent and broken as he was, he did not want to join the bodies of those lost there before him and climbed out. This was a long and strenuous task that lasted many months, at various points we did not expect our hero to make it. Alas, he finally overcame the tantalising encounters with Beauty and the brutal attacks from the Beast, and was able to stand on his own two feet once again. Unfortunately, this did not change the fact that he was lost.

To be continued...

So There's This Girl...

I suppose I was getting used to the possibility of being all "alone and
lost" for quite a while. It seems kind of logical with me and my history
of "problems" with girls. I guess I'm sort of looking for some kind of
victory over myself at the moment, because I'm still very much
expecting something bad to happen. It sounds a bit pathetic from me,
you'd expect me to be a bit more optimistic I guess :p Again, I'm just
overreacting about it all. Anyway, there's this girl, I seriously
underestimated the fact that I'm likable =D I'm a bit worried that it's
just a phase for her though. We'll see. I've liked her for a long time
and I'm not perfect, the only time I've ever been on a date was the
zoo in Oxford (and that was a long distance relationship which was 4
months long in which we only met twice.) I don't know, I think that
I can handle this one, or, I would be able to, if there wasn't distance.
Never mind though, because in mere months, I'll be able to cross it
easily.

Anyway, enough of the cryptics (just thought it'd be nice for you to see things from a different angle), she's a REALLY nice girl, and although we're not always full of conversation, she keeps me calm, wich is a real achievement. I'm comfortable with her, and we have such a good friendship that I don't think that it can be worse. I think she's amazing, I really do, and I would honestly tell her all the time (except that'd probably be a bit creepy). I only have two problems which are that I am worried that it's a phase and I'm slightly intimidated by her big celebrity crushes :s Oh well, we'll see.

Two rules:
1.Friendships First (I'm not going to ruin a friendship by constantly thinking about a relationship)
2.If it happens, it happens

Mmm, I can live with that.

The Perfect Coffee

Ingredients:

1 standard burger king coffee
4 packets of burger king white sugar
16 cartons of burger king milk

Bliss.

It's not often I want a coffee, I guess ice skating really drains my caffeine levels. Yes, today I went ice skating (for the first time) with Ewan, James and Emma. I wasn't really sure how it would work out :s

So I got the bus into Hemel and walked to the big luxury park (can't spell it's name) with Emma after meeting with her at her imaginary bench outside primark :p While I was there I bought a tub of bubblegum cola bottles (the blue and pink ones) from the market. Fun fun fun.

Anyway, we got there, we paid, we got onto the ice, the guys skidded around on the wall and I got to learning. I won't say too much, but I can just about get off the wall to overtake now, haha. Oh, and for the record, I fell over four times.

So yeah, after my coffee, we went to play pool. These tables were new because they were the English variety of pool, not the American version i'm used to down at Hollywood bowl. James was first up, he was very good, and made me look like a beginner, I felt a little intimidated, but luckily for me he slipped up quite a few times towards the end, and I stole it. Then it was Emma, I started off pretty well, potted two balls in one shot, which was quite exciting, but I just couldn't finish and she took it to a game each, I'm up for rematches and deciders anytime!

After all this excitement, I waited for everyone to get picked up and began the long walk back to town (hemel) where I decided to pick up a cheap lunch from a recently discovered subway (99p for half a 6 inch sub with melted cheese and pepperoni = not bad) and waited for the bus...for about 50 mins...

Top 5 Songs! (Week Starting 06/07/09)

It's been a pretty dramatic week in terms of my top five, but I think this'll do :)

5. All That I've Got - The Used

I really like the little tinkly guitar bits of this song :p It's pretty cool. I used to be in love with this song a few years back. It's all very good, and has that emotional power that the used can do :p It's actually about Bert's puppy (named "David Bowie") who was hit by a car and died. Interesting times.

Good Lyrics: "So deep, that it didn't even bleed and catch me
Off guard, red handed"

"Hit me and knock me out
And let me go back to sleep"

"[Chorus]
I'll be just fine
Pretending I'm not
I'm far from lonely
And it's all that I've got "

"I guess, I remember every glance you shot me"

"So deep that I didn't even scream "fuck me"

4. From Yesterday - 30 Seconds to Mars

At first I loved this song, then I grew to hate it. Then it came back, and here we are :) However, I have always loved the video, you'll see it sometime (hint hint). It's cool how they have that sort of quietness and then it sounds as if they're really giving it their all. I don't really like any of the lyrics though. Shame.

3. Promise - Eve 6

Yes, it did better than even I expected, Ant shall be pleased :) I like this song because it reminds me a lot of Alkaline trio and that group of bands, yet it has some pretty cool lyrics. Don't care about meaning, look at the lyrics :P

Good Lyrics: "I spit and stutter,
stuff and clutter
worries in my worried corner
maladjusted,
just untrusted,
rusted,
sometimes brilliant, busted thoughts.
Think I'll stay for a while
I'm intrigued and I'm
red as a newborn, white as a corpse."

"I promise not to-try not to-fuck with your mind.
I promise not to mind if you go your way and I go mine.
I promise not to lie if I'm looking you straight in the eye.
I promise not to-try not to-let you down."

"Why you gotta keep the fan on high when it's cold outside?
Just wanna let you know that I'm still a fan, get it?"

2. The New Black - Every Time I Die

Recordddd! This is the first song to be posted three times. Although it's not made it to number 1 yet, it's fast becoming one of my FAVOURITE songs =D So I'm gonna post all the lyrics and seriously recommend it!

"Baby, you got me all wrong
And maybe I am not at all down and out
I'm high and I'm in

Don't you know who I am?
I'm the jaded one with pop insensitivity
When I finish struggling,
We can make our way to the dance floor and stand like strangers
In an elevator stuck between stories
I always find myself in the middle of your stories

With the cameras as a witness I will suffer
With the cameras as a witness I will suffer

If everything I do is wrong
Then by God I'll do it right [x4]

We don't dance no no no
We got class
No we don't have any fun at all
It's the new style and we know it
We're not stunning, we're just stunned

We're lying for a living
We're lying for a living

Don't you know who I am?
I'm the real thing with the low-key sensibilities
I don't need what I've got half as much as everyone covets it

Well if loving me is wrong,
Then god damn you do it right
Well if loving me is wrong,
Then god damn you do it right

It turns us on,
To turn you down
We're turned on,
To turn you down"

1. Finders Keepers - You Me At Six

Although all the other songs on my list changed this week, this song remained the same throughout, I love the way it's sung. It's amazing. I was listening to it on repeat for a while. It's the way they vary their songs so no two song is similar, it's great. Well deserved second number one for one of my favourite bands.

You've got a nerve
Giving me the cold shoulder
Giving me the twice over, that's not deserved.
And we'll talk, again when you're sober
You said I've got cold and our heat has gone
I wanna be your eyes so you can see what you've done
I wanna be your ears so you can hear everything that's been missing

Finders keepers
Will you keep me in mind
I like secrets
'Cause they keep me in line
Old habits die hard
But I'm too young to die

I guess it's a mess
That you make your bed
So why are we still laying in it
And I could barely sleep
I could barely eat
And it's been three whole weeks since I heard you speak
So hard to take that eight months was built to break
Oh I love mistakes
Especially ones you've made
(I bet you're sorry)

Finders keepers
Will you keep me in mind
I like secrets
'Cause they keep me in line
Old habits die hard
But I'm too young to die

Finders keepers
The whole thing is a lie
You won't find her
'Cause she's too hard to find
Take my advice and boy run a mile

And have another drink
And then think this one over
You dig yourself a grave every day you're sober
Do you see what I mean?
Have your best interest written all over me
I could never be what you need.

Finders keepers
Will you keep me in mind
I like secrets
'Cause they keep me in line
Old habits die hard
But I'm too young to die

Finders keepers
The whole thing is a lie
You won't find her
'Cause she's too hard to find
Take my advice and boy run a mile

And I bet you guess me right
(You guess me yes you guessed me right)
I bet you guess me right.

Top 100 Music Videos!!! (100-96)

Yes, I've finally got to the point where I can do my list!!! Now, a few warnings before I start. Not all of these videos are perfect quality and all I've done is convert them, apart from that, I've not edited them at all. So bear with it. I'll warn when there are bright lights like the pros

100. Good Charlotte - Predictable
used to love this video because of the black rose. Alas, it's slipped a few places :P

99. Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff
I liked this one because it's like, a real "get involved" video, with all the people. Awww. Warning: End of this video is missinggg

98. Kid Rock - American Badass

97. Muse - Supermassive Black Hole
The band's suits are kinda cool :)

96. Lostprophets - Can't Catch Tomorrow
This is Lostprophets' second "British" video. They sort of pretended to be American for a while, then they gave in and did some British stuff (They're Welsh) :)
It will get more interesting as it goes along, I promise :)

The Wednesday Lunchtime Post

Surprise! A post during the day! Wow!

Lately I've not been sleeping great and my alarm clock is malfunctioning (which doesn't help), so I've not been able to get up early enough to head into school and finalize my CV (references). I'm actually wishing I was tired so I can go to bed at a (fairly) reasonable hour.

In the past two days, my top 5 has taken a few dramatic twists, and this week could be the first time a song is posted THREE times!!! It's a shame, because I thought I had it sorted by Monday, but everything's gone a bit woooo.

I think this is week three of my holiday. To be honest I've totally lost count. Everyone's going on holiday now. Eleanor in Arizona, Karolina in Poland, Anna in Ireland. Billy's off to Turkey later as well. I was so glad when Emily came back from her walk for the Duke of Edinburgh thing, I think it'll be kinda cool to know someone with a silver award :)

So, what's next in my magical holiday experience? Things aren't going great at the moment, but I'm taking it all on the shoulder because I know I've got too much time to be bothered by little things. I hope it's just an iffy day...

Stay tuned for: The start of my top 100 music videos!!!

"Fun-derstorms"

I love thunderstorms, such excitement (no, I don't get out much), it's great that most of them happen during the summer too, because I really don't like the heat :p

"Light travels faster than sound, this is why people appear bright before they speak."

Just a short post today, to announce that my top 100 is now split into 10s and should be up verrrry shortly. Apart from that, things are a bit quiet really...

60th post!

Does that mean that my blog gets a pension now? Or does it have to wait until 65?

I think I'm going to start adding random quotes to my blog, just to brighten things up (that gives me images of people coming online and going "Oh, I like what you've done with the place").

I think I might also start an "idea journal" (bear with me) to write up all of the "golf carts Vs milk truck" style ideas I have (there's at least one a day). It'll take a while to catch up but I'm gonna kick off with the first ones I can remember:

Idea #1: The carnival float of death.

This is a great one, the plan is to make an awesome carnival float, and to put something like one of those climbing frame domes (a small one) in the middle. Then we ride it down a MASSIVE ski slope! The plan is to take lots of people, they can jump off whenever they get too scared :p and the last person to stay on wins! A bonus for getting to the bottom. Cash prize? hell yes. I was thinking, maybe to help health and safety, instead of jumping off, the people could have parachutes :p awesome? I think so. Any takers?

Idea #2: Crazy golf coastal tour.

Of all the ideas, this is the one I'd most like to carry out, and the one I'm most likely to carry out. All we need is a few cars, walkie talkies, a map, putting clubs, lots of golf balls and lots of money for sleeping arrangements/caravans/mobile homes/all of the above and of course, a video camera. Yes, I intend to make a video diary of me and a bunch of people touring the coastline and every crazy golf course on it (give or take a few). Start in Watford at the Topgolf center, move north through the center of the country and head to the very tip of the eastern coastline. Then move anti-clockwise around the country and most importantly, have lots of fun! So far I have one taker :p In a few years or so, it WILL happen!

Hope you like my new additions!

Karolina's Birthday Blog!

Yes, it was indeed Karolina's birthday today, and as she's in Poland, I'm gonna announce it right here, happy birthday Karolina!

On the subject of amazing friends, I saw my second person this holiday (the first being Eleanor) yesterday, Emma. We decided to go bowling and then walk back to mine. For the record, I lost (twice) but then we played pool and I won, just to show that I can win at some games :p On the way back we knocked for David and we all went back to mine to watch Severance (a british horror comedy). Then after David left, I cleaned my desk and went through my CD collection. Fun fun fun.

After all that I went with Emma to wait for a bus because we gave up on looking for a timetable and just decided to wait it out (I figured it wouldn't be long on a Friday evening) and just sat and chatted for about 10 mins. I needed it really, to keep my mind off of other things, because my mind was beginning to obsess. So thank you Emma :)

In other news, things are going amazingly well in my life (surprisingly), I feel great! I feel better about myself, my trust with relationship related things have been restored and I genuinely feel that things are good :) I'm going to Eleanor's tomorrow to get a rabbit! (a rabbit!!!) I can't wait.

And now for the weather. In the Watford area there will be heights of 23 degrees celsius and lows of 15 degrees, with the chance of showers some time in the afternoon. This is Adam Batchelor signing off, thank you.

Top 5 Songs! (Week Starting 29/06)

This week's been a bit hectic really. I'm still on the spare, and I've lost another playlist so I'm gonna have to remake it (AGAIN!). So I made a really basic 17 song playlist to keep me occupied, am I bored of it, no, it's AWESOME! So before I write my top five (which is a real heavyweight list), I'd like to mention the other twelve:

Situations - Escape the Fate
Ashes, Ashes - Hidden in Plain View
Last Train Home - Lostprophets
Adalia - Madina Lake
Monsters - Matchbook Romance
Helena - My Chemical Romance
Misery Business - Paramore
Don't Bury Me . . . I'm Still Not Dead - Riverboat Gamblers
Face Down - The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
All That I've Got - The Used
Save It For the Bedroom - You Me At Six
Under Pressure - The Used and My Chemical Romance
Miserable at Best - Mayday Parade

Now, are you sitting comfortably? Good. Then I shall begin.

5. The Fantasy - 30 Seconds To Mars

I used to listen to this song on repeat back when I first heard it, that's how much it threw me. I love 30 seconds to mars, I have their first album on CD (how retro am i? :P). There is a lot of contradiction to what this song's about, and to be honest, I don't care what it's about because it's just an amazingly mesmerising song.

Good lyrics: "do you live?
do you die?
do you bleed?
for the fantasy"

4. The Ghost of You - My Chemical Romance

This song was one of the late comers to my playlist, I just thought "why not?" and here it is :p My chemical romance's songs used to have really powerful choruses, and I love them to bits. It's quite obviously about a dead relationship. He uses death as explanation quite a lot, for instance, he says "she dies", meaning the moment the lies were uncovered, she was dead to him. It's so powerful, check it out.

Good lyrics:"at the end of the world
or the last thing i see
you are never coming home, never coming home
could i? should i?

and all the things that you never ever told me
and all the smiles that are ever gonna hug me
never coming home, never coming home
could i? should i?

and all the wounds that are ever gonna scar me
for all the ghosts that are never gonna catch me
if i fall, if i fall down"

"and i remember now
at the top of my lungs, in my arms
she dies, she dies"

3. Everchanging (acoustic) - Rise Against

Yes, it's back! This song is in my list because after two days without a computer OR music, I woke up with this song in my head. It's because my life IS everchanging (in the most improbable ways) and my latest twist has left me staring "in the face of change" I just hope the rest of the line doesn't apply to me.

Important Lyrics: "In the face of change,
that's when she turned to me and said
"i'm not sure anymore"

"have you ever been a part of something
that you thought would never end
and then of course it did"

"and now the lines are drawn
is this feeling gone?
the best parts of this have come and gone"

2. Johnny Sniper - Enter Shikari

This song is one of my favourites, because it sounds so positive. There are two meanings: the title and the lyrics. The title is based on a sex education character who had a sniper rifle that fired condoms or "johnnies", whenever a couple were going to have unprotected sex he'd fire a "johnny" onto the end of his penis (just trying to be scientific) :p Good story. The lyrics are about saving the planet. Thought I'd be blunt about that, you'll see in the lyrics.

Good Lyrics: "So this is a quest to save the world,
And He'll always be here for another,
Another day, Another chance to rescue"

"Hey Johnny!
Way to save the world!
Way to save the world!
Way to save the world!
Way...to save...the world!"

"This is all i need to feel alive,
This is all i need to feel alive,
This is all i need to feel alive,
This is all i need to feel alive,
This is all i need to feel alive,
This is all i need to feel alive,
This is all i need to feel alive,
This is all i need to feel alive,
This is all i need to feel alive"

1. MakeDamnSure - Taking Back Sunday

The second band to get two number ones! woooo! This is from the album that I actually own (Louder Now, it's track 3, I know that off by heart) I've always loved it. This song very much relates to my life right now, in fact i used to listen to it before, it has ALWAYS related to my feelings towards a certain relationship. It's about a girl that the narrator likes, but he thinks that he's wayyyy out of her league...It's amazing how my life happens.

"You've got this new head
Filled up with smoke
I've got my veins all tangled close
To those jukebox bars you frequent
They're the safest place to hide

A long night spent with your most obvious weaknesses
You start shaking at the thought
You are everything I want
Because you are everything I'm not

And we lay, we lay together
Just not too close, too close
(How close is close enough?)
And we lay, we lay together
Just not too close, too close
(How close is close enough?)

I just wanna break you down so badly
I trip over everything you say
I just wanna break you down so badly
In the worst way

My inarticulate store bought
Hangover hobby kit it talks
It says 'You, oh, you are so cool'
Scissor shaped across the bed
You are red, violent red
You hollow out my hungry eyes
You hollow out my hungry eyes

And we lay, we lay together
Just not too close, too close
(How close is close enough?)
And we lay, we lay together
Just not too close, too close
(How close is close enough?)

I just wanna break you down so badly
I trip over everything you say
I just wanna break you down so badly
In the worst way
I just wanna break you down so badly
I trip over everything you say
I just wanna break you down so badly
In the worst way

I'm gonna make damn sure
That you can't ever leave
No you won't ever get too far from me
You won't ever get too far from me
I'll make damn sure
That you can't ever leave
No you won't ever get too far from me
You won't ever get too far from me
You won't ever get too far from me
You won't ever get too far

I just wanna break you down so badly
I trip over everything you say
I just wanna break you down so badly
In the worst way

I'm gonna make damn sure
I just wanna break you down so badly
I just wanna break you down so badly
In the worst way"

Parallel Blogging

A lot of the time, I feel like I'm blogging alongside someone else. It feels pretty good, because it shows that we at least have some things in common.

Anyway, today I'm going to talk about relationships and my life. First I'm gonna put what I want, then what I got, then how that effected me. All I want is something simple, someone who doesn't want me to change but supports me if I want to change, supports me in everything. Nothing serious, nothing based on lust, I want someone who has things in common with me (obviously, but I missed that last time) to the point of reminding me of me. A girl that will make me happy, and stop me being paranoid with just a few words, someone who's open, no secrets, we'd need to be able to trust each other. Every kiss should be a special occaision, not something that's done for the sake of lust.

What I got was very different, before I really knew what I wanted. I know I've written about past relationships so much in this blog but that's just been a blame game, it didn't effect me massively but it seriously fucked up my trust. I had a fourteen month relationship, I don't know how much of it was real or not, it was based on lust because we had nothing in common. I lost my virginity about a week after I turned 15, which isn't great I know...It was full of lies, on her side, she cheated on me twice, but I'm not even sure if she was lying or not. So in January (ironically) it ended, for good, and then for about a month I gave up on everything. Then in February she came back to fuck with my head some more. In March I was totally fucked up. I found someone I could talk to, that I had things in common with. By the start of April I was over my ex and I discovered that this new girl liked me, obviously I started getting suspicious when she didn't want to do anything about it. Two months later, I discovered she LIED.

I wouldn't say all this has damaged me emotionally in the long run, I'm fine as far as that goes. But my trust, however, is seriously damaged. I believe a girl somewhere could restore that quite easily. The thing is, when confronted with another girl who says she likes me, I'm gonna think "is she lying?" even if I KNOW I can trust her, it's ridiculous.

So, what if there is a girl who can tick all the boxes in my second paragraph? What if she knows she does but is just a bit low in self confidence to be honest about it? What if I tick her boxes? So many questions, so little answers.

Something's going to happen soon. As said, if it happens, it happens.

Welcome to my life :p
