Ultra Culture Cinema #5!

I have currently been up for 20 hours. But the truth is, if I don't blog about tonight now I never will, so let's just be thankful I couldn't afford more alcohol.

Long story short, I went to the ICA for Ultra Culture Cinema 5. My story will consist of various pieces of multimedia because honestly, I'm far too lazy to paint the pictures in words. If you don't know who Ultra Culture are by now, you clearly don't know me well enough. But I guess if you still don't know, all you need to know is that I stopped reading film magazines the second I laid eyes on their glorious blog. 'Nuff said.

So, yeah, I went to see a film at their christmas shindig, a film which I'd been keeping track of since sometime in August: Catfish.

Amazing how these things come together, am I right?

Upon arrival, we were greeted with Ultra Culture's awesome hospitality, where they were giving the crowd hats, badges and bottles of milk? I don't know, but it was pretty cool. Then the fun began. Our mighty leader, Charlie addressed us, asking us what the 2 themes of Catfish were. Eight year olds, facebook and art all came up, but apparently Mr Lyne was looking for "long distance relationships", in which the couple had never met before, almost like a blind date. This ensued:

...Yeah. Oh, and then Santa turned up! I don't actually have any pictures to prove this, but I will inevitably steal it from some other blog post when I get the chance. He gave out many kind presents, such as Four Christmases, Home alone 1 and 2, and National Lanpoon's christmas vacation! Charlie also took great care in announcing that he would be handing copies of Lesbian Vampire Killers to the first 48 people who got to the bar after our film viewing. Not quite sure if this is a good thing or not.

Then we watched the film, I'm not going to synopsise it or anything for you, because you're on the internet, youtube's just across the street. I wont deny anything, it was amazing. go watch it.

Then we hit the bar! Here's a picture of Tom proudly showcasing his free copy of Lesbian Vampire Killers!:
FUN FACT: we were actually so early to the bar we had to backtrack to get our free stuff!

I guess not much else happened, we got some drinks in and I shamelessly stalked Charlie from our corner:
If it's not clear which member of the crowd he is in the picture I will (and did) quite happily point him out for you:
And again:
Two hours into this, we decided to call it a night. We were going to thank Charlie for such an amazing night, but he was having too much fun by the decks in between piss breaks. So we left him to it.Thanks Charlie. Bye Charlie.

Okay, now it's really late, so I'm basically just going to document my journey home in pictures and/or video without making any input at all.

G'night all.
